Executive Order 14160, signed January 20, 2025, sought to deny citizenship to children born in the United States to undocumented parents or temporary visa holders. Barbara, decided June 30, 2026, the Supreme Court ruled 5-4 that the Fourteenth Amendment guarantees citizenship to essentially all children born on US soil, permanently striking down the order.
