Gender-affirming care banned for minors

Bans puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and gender transition surgery for minors and requires children already receiving medications to be weaned off in a medically appropriate manner. Signed June 2, 2023 and effective September 1, 2023. The Texas Supreme Court upheld the law 8 to 1 in Loe v. Texas on June 28, 2024, and it remains in effect. Violations are grounds for medical license revocation.
