Bans gender-affirming medical care for minors, requires schools to restrict bathroom and locker room use by biological sex, bars policies requiring staff to use students' preferred pronouns, prohibits human sexuality instruction in grade 5 and below, and bars instruction at any grade aimed at exploring gender identity or sexual orientation. The Republican controlled legislature enacted it March 29, 2023 by overriding Governor Andy Beshear's veto. The medical care ban survived the litigation resolved by United States v. Skrmetti in June 2025 and is in effect.
