Gender-affirming care banned for minors

Bans puberty blockers, hormone therapy, and gender transition surgery for minors, with existing patients required to be taken off treatment by December 31, 2023. Signed April 5, 2023. A federal injunction initially blocked the medication provisions, but the Seventh Circuit stayed it in February 2024 and later ruled for the state in K.C. v. Individual Members of the Medical Licensing Board. The ban is fully in effect.
